Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
Scale Diary is designed around a simple principle: your reflections belong to you. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means in practice.
Short version
- We do not collect any personal data.
- We do not require an account, email, or login.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- All entries are stored locally on your device.
- We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to anyone.
1. Who we are
Scale Diary ("the App", "we", "us") is developed and published by Mohamed Salah ("the Developer"). You can reach us at support@scalediary.app.
2. Information we collect
None. Scale Diary does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on any server we operate. The App does not include analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, advertising frameworks, or any other third-party trackers.
3. Data stored on your device
Entries you log — actions, categories, notes, and any images you attach — are stored locally inside the App's private storage on your device. We have no access to this data. It is included in your device's standard iCloud backup only if you have enabled iCloud backups for your device; that backup is governed by Apple's privacy terms, not ours.
4. Purchases
Scale Diary is sold as a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple may share with us anonymous, aggregated sales statistics through App Store Connect; these reports do not identify individual customers.
5. Notifications
The App may schedule local notifications on your device to remind you to log a reflection. These notifications are generated entirely on-device and do not involve any push-notification service or server. You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings.
6. Children's privacy
Scale Diary does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. Because we collect no data at all, the App is safe for users of any age permitted by the App Store's age rating.
7. Your rights
Under regulations such as the EU GDPR and the California CCPA, users have rights to access, correct, and delete personal data held about them. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. To delete the data stored locally by the App, simply delete the App from your device.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever change the App in a way that affects this policy — for example, by adding an optional cloud backup feature — we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. We will never retroactively change how we treat existing data.
